The challenges related to sanitation and water management in new urban communities have contributed to the emergence of visions of Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) and Water Sensitive Urban Design in cities worldwide to keep pace with these subtle changes the shape of the urban environment. This research paper aims to monitor the main obstacles and challenges facing residents of new cities in Egypt and the environmental impacts resulting from those challenges in the urban context. A questionnaire was conducted among a group of the population. This study took the economic houring model for low-income people in the 6th of October City in Egypt as a case stud. As a result, the study found that the main challenges facing the residents of these areas and their impacts are: I 1) Lack of regulag maintenance. 2) Health risks to the population. 3) Damaging of public parks and gardent. 4) Pollution of the surounding environment, including soil and water. 5) Lack of state funding for maintenance and Limited financial resources available for projects in this type of housing. 6) Lack of government engagement in preparing programs to raise population awareness and clarity in environmental goals and quality of life policies. 7) Lack of community initiatives to participate in decision-making. 8) Lack of political guidance on planning processes for sustainable infrastructure.

On 6 February 2023, near Kahramanmaras in south-central Turkiye, an event underscored the vulnerability of cities to seismic activity, revealing a lack of preparedness for substantial shocks. The contributing factors are manifold, yet fundamentally, the collapse of buildings and infrastructure can be attributed to an underestimated capacity for meticulous settlement planning (location) and the adoption of advanced techniques for resilient construction (structure). Regrettably, as has been investigated by many research works, ordinary urban planning in Turkiye hardly finds ways to integrate the vulnerability analysis for settlement expansion, which includes the full integration of geological characteristics with the analysis of building sensitivity. With this work, we wanted to build a composite risk index based on earthquake vulnerability, hazard amplification map, and exposure. We designed the composite index in Izmir's basin, Turkiye's third most populated city, to answer the question: What if a destructive earthquake strikes this densely settled area? The results illustrates how the coupled integration of digital data on geology with settlements and infrastructure in a Geographic Information System environment can be used to produce risk maps and plan the anthropic system's adaptation carefully. Findings demonstrate the city is highly vulnerable to earthquakes and identify priority areas for planning intervention, relocation, and renovation of buildings.

This study examines the importance of natural resource diversification for China's green economic revival using the data from 1990 to 2021. The study makes use of a massive dataset spanning more than three decades, sheds light on the environmental sustainability and economic resilience measures taken by China's resource business. As China's economy grew at an unprecedented rate, environmental damage increased. Studies show increasing rates of carbon emissions, water use, and land deterioration. Information also indicates that people are becoming more conscious of the need for change and are open to adopting novel approaches and cutting-edge tools. The results of our study, which covers the years 1990 through 2021, on China's efforts to diversify its natural resources for a green recovery highlight the importance of sustainable resource sector practices. China's environmental problems, such as carbon emissions, water usage, and soil erosion, have worsened as the country's economy has expanded rapidly. It's not all bad, however. In an effort to reduce human use of natural resources, there has been a growth in the adoption of eco-friendly technologies and regulations. China is aware that it must find a middle ground between environmental conservation and economic growth. China needs to take advantage of these trends over time. The extraction of resources, the reduction of emissions, and the usage of land all need to be governed by clear and consistent standards. It's crucial to put money into green technology like renewable energy and eco-efficient production. By taking the lead in ethical resource management, China can ensure a greener recovery for the world.

Polar ecosystems are the most important storage and source of climatically active gases. Currently, natural biogeochemical processes of organic matter circulation in the soil-atmosphere system are disturbed in urban ecosystems of the cryolithozone. Urbanized ecosystems in the Arctic are extremely under-investigated in terms of their functions in regulating the cycle of climatically active gases. The role of urban soils and soil-like bodies in the sequestration and stabilization of organic matter is of particular interest. The percentage of gravimetric concentrations of organic matter in Arctic urban soils are almost always determined by the method of dichromate oxidation and are subject to extreme variability (from tenths of a percent to more than 90% in man-made soil formations), but the average carbon content in the surface soil horizons can be estimated at 5-7%. The surface humus-accumulative horizons are represented by a variety of morphological forms with the content of organic matter of various origins. The work also focuses on those forms of organic matter, the content of which is extremely small, but very important for the biogeochemical functioning of soils-polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and components of petroleum products, as well as labile forms of soil organic matter. We recommend that further studies of the organic matter system be conducted in urbanized areas since the carbon cycle there is severely disrupted, as well as carbon flows. The urbanization and industrialization processes in the Arctic are progressing, which could lead to a radical transformation of carbon ecosystem services.
